Hello everyone! Thank you for your continued support as we begin our ninth year of i42 missions. We are so excited to see how God is going to move in Taiwan this year, and can’t wait to share with you what happens.

This first week of preparations has already been very out of the ordinary. One of the biggest obstacles that we encountered was related to airplane flights, as China Airlines workers held a strike just as many of our members were planning to depart for Taiwan! Fortunately, the strike was resolved quickly, but it still left a large number of our team members scrambling to find new flights. Despite the confusion, God still provided for us by bringing all of our members safely to Taiwan!

The past few days have been focused mainly on preparing for our upcoming camps. The team members have been busy preparing craft materials, rehearsing skits, reviewing curriculum and praying for the upcoming camps. Even though we haven’t started holding camps yet, we still have so much that we need to pray for!

This upcoming weekend, we will be holding two camps, one in Zhubei and one in North Taichung. We will also be holding youth evangelical outreaches immediately after both of these camps in our respective cities.

Zhubei is a new camp for us, and will be particularly interesting because we will be condensing our four-day curriculum into two days. Please pray for our energy and health, as this camp’s schedule will be more rigorous and out of the ordinary for us. Also, please pray for our interactions with the local church, since this will be our first time working with them, and for the children that we will be reaching.

North Taichung is a very familiar camp for us, but unlike other years, this camp will be held at a rather unfamiliar time (from Friday to Monday). Please pray for our interactions with the local church, as the camp will be held alongside the Sunday service. Pray for the children and their families to have open hearts to the gospel, especially during our house visits.

In addition to the next two camps, please keep our two upcoming high school camps in your prayers. Due to an unrelated tragedy last summer, many Taiwanese families have been very wary of allowing their high school-age students to attend summer programs such as ours. As a result, enrollment numbers have been much lower than anticipated. Please pray that God will work in the hearts of students and their parents and fill up these camps beyond our expectations!

Thank you all again for your continued love and support. We will continue to update you all as much as we can as the month progresses. Please keep us in your prayers!
